The Federal Council has responded to a parliamentary inquiry regarding digital climate reporting and the implementation of XBRL: link.
We welcome the Federal Council’s clarification, as it provides practical guidelines and the necessary flexibility to comply with requirements without incurring unnecessary costs for transitional solutions.
At the same time, we would like to emphasize:
- Tagging plus by mms is not an XBRL transitional solution, but an integrated, field-tested application that continuously covers the current requirements in Switzerland and the EU.
- For AI and analytics to deliver precise and reliable results—and for you to maintain control over your data—they require structured data, which only XBRL or HTML can provide, not PDF.
- Machine-readability is not questioned by the EUOmnibus. On the contrary, with the European Single Access Point (ESAP), the EU will provide a central platform from 2027 that standardizes access to corporate, financial, and sustainability information across Europe. Required format: XBRL.
We continue to recommend integrating XBRL early into reporting processes. The sooner this integration begins, the more time teams and systems have to adapt and fully leverage its potential.

No. Start with the minimum climate-report requirements. That’s enough to meet regulatory obligations. The full scope can be built up step by step. - How technical do we need to get?
No IT background is required. Our experts guide you through the process, and you’ll practice directly on your own report. - What’s the tangible outcome of the workshop?
